Roger Blaine Grove, age 65, passed away peacefully at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND on December 22, 2018 where he had resided for the last 15 months of his life. Roger really enjoyed his time at Valley Eldercare, making many friends among the residents and staff that he thought of as family.  He shared his lifelong passion for music, taking part in the choir, and performing at events. He spent countless hours listening to and downloading his massive collection of music.  He was excited to put his white whiskers to work playing Santa at Valley Eldercare this season. Roger was born April 15, 1953, in Rugby, ND to Eleanor (Kegley) and George Grove.  He grew up in Rugby and graduated from Rugby High School. He married Maureen Ham in Breckenridge, MN on September 12, 1976.  They resided in Wyndmere, ND. He worked various jobs in the area over the years including a farm hand for Einar Tosse (Pat's dad), Cenex, Anderson Service Station, Wilrich Manufacturing, and other manufacturing jobs in Wahpeton. He put his cooking skills to good use and liked to try out all the latest kitchen gadgets. His hands were also put to good use tinkering with cars and other mechanical things.  He loved his cats and dogs and they provided continuous companionship and joy in his life. He spoiled them rotten! Roger is survived by 2 brothers: Galen (Pat) Grove of Comstock, WI, and Kevin (Carol) Grove of Grand Forks, ND; nephews, Dean (Tracy) Grove of Montevideo, MN, and Ryan Grove of Peoria, AZ; nieces, Sheila (Tim) Rye of Cumberland, WI, Shannon (Brian) Rud of Grand Forks, ND, and Sarah (Ed) Snetsinger of Naytahwaush, MN; and 7 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Maureen, whom he loved and missed dearly.

We would like to say a special thank you to his brother-in-law Mike Ham for always lending a hand and friend Doris that called daily to check on him when he lived at home. A memorial service to celebrate Roger's life will be held at Valley Eldercare on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Valley Eldercare or the Grand Forks Humane Society.
