Sonia C. Contreras, age 72, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Sonia was born on June 3, 1946, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, the daughter of the late Juan Guzman and Carmelina Cruz. She grew up in Honduras and then moved to Texas for work. There she met and married Marco Contreras. They then moved to East Grand Forks, MN, where she has lived for the past 19 years. Sonia was a very loving and caring person, a good friend to everyone, and enjoyed attending church every Sunday.

Sonia is survived by her daughters, Yolanda Cruz and Maria del Carmen Cruz, both of Honduras; 5 grandchildren; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Wilmer Guzman Cruz.
