Sue Vanyo, age 56 of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Sue was born on January 2, 1962 in Lisbon, ND the daughter of Harry and Alice (Lemieux) Dalos. She met her future husband, Phil, at Moorhead State University in a Ballroom Dance class they both were enrolled in. They were married on June 28th, 1986 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moorhead, MN. They resided there for 4 years until they moved to the Twin Cities area. While in Twin Cities, Sue worked as an Administrative Executive for Mardell Partners Appraisal Service. She was also a member of the City of Lakes Sweet Adeline Chorus and her Sweet Adeline's quartet "Prism". In 1998 Sue & Phil moved to East Grand Forks where Sue had various jobs including working at All Seasons Garden Center, Coldwell Banker, Sacred Heart Church, UND and Acme Electric. Wherever Sue worked she took pride in doing the best she could to help others, and she especially loved fixing the computers of her coworkers at Acme Electric.   Besides working full time jobs and raising her children. Sue also volunteered for many functions at Sacred Heart Church & School as well as the East Grand Forks Willing Workers 4-H Club.

In addition, Sue's love of music allowed her to sing in the Sacred Heart "Eagle's Wings" choir for the past 20 years. Sue's beautiful voice and sweet smile will be missed by everyone she met. Sue & Phil were blessed with 3 children, Jessica, Alex and Matt. On June 7th, 2017 Sue was diagnosed with cancer. She accepted her challenge and after a courageous battle went willingly and happily to meet her Savior.

Sue is survived by her husband Phil Vanyo of East Grand Forks, MN; her 3 children, Jessica Vanyo of Rochester, MN, Alexander Vanyo of East Grand Forks, MN and Matthew Vanyo of Fargo, ND; her mother, Alice Dalos of Enderlin, ND; 6 siblings, David Dalos of Brooklyn Park, MN, Jim Dalos of Enderlin, ND, Bob (Becky) Dalos of Pelican Rapids, MN, Rick Dalos of Brooklyn Park, MN, Jeanne Dalos of Detroit Lakes, MN, Mary (Bob) Olson of Detroit Lakes, MN and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Sue is preceded in death by her father Harry Dalos and her grandparents.

The family has respectively asked that in lieu of flowers, that donations to the Susan Vanyo Music Scholarship at Sacred Heart School be considered.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.

Rosary Service: 4:30 PM on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also one hour prior Funeral Service on Tuesday in the Church.
