Susan Zukowski, 76, of Grand Forks, passed away, Saturday, July 4, 2026 at Altru Hospital.

Susan Anne Stevenson was born April 5, 1950 in Langdon, ND to Harold and Anna (Gillis) Stevenson. She grew up in rural East Grand Forks and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High in 1968. Following high school she attended Moorhead State University, graduating in 1972 with her Bachelors Degree in Education. While teaching for the Grand Forks Public School, she earned her Master's of Education from UND. On October 8, 1971, Susan married Gregory Zukowski in Grand Forks, together they raised three sons, Christophter Lee, Scott Gregory, and Eric Steven. While Greg was serving in Vietnam, Susan taught in Argyle. The Air Force took them many places including stations in Ohio, Nebraska and Germany all places that Susan taught. Grand Forks AFB was their last station returning to the area in 1990 to be closer to her family. She retired from Grand Forks Public School in 2015. In her spare time, Susan enjoyed reading, cooking and canning, especially salsa and jellies that she loved to share.

Susan is survived by her care-taker Greg Zukowski; sons Christopher (Billie) Zukowski of East Grand Forks, Scott Zukowski of Grand Forks and Eric Zukowski of Grand Forks; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sisters Cynthia Stevenson of Burnsville, MN, Karen Fodness of Bemidji; brother Kenny (Tammy) Stevenson of East Grand Forks; sister-in-law Sheila Stevenson of East Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Anna Stevenson, brother Tim Stevenson and brother-in-law Mark Fodness.

VISITATION : 4:00 PM until time of service at 5:30 also at Dahl Funeral Home
