Sylvia (Danielson) Franklin, 100, of East Grand Forks, MN died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Center, Crookston, MN.

Sylvia (Danielson) Franklin was born June 25, 1918 in Bygland, MN the daughter of Daniel and Mathilda (Thompson) Danielson.  She grew up in Bygland and graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School.  She attended beauty school and had Sylvia's Beauty Shop in East Grand Forks.  She was also a nurse's aide at the former Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks.  She lived in East Grand Forks until 2009 when she moved to Assisted Living at the Summit and in 2015 to the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.

She is survived by her daughter Joan (Brad) Tauer of Katy, TX, grandchildren, Cher (Tim) Short, Eric (Melissa) Tauer, 3 great grandchildren, Chelsea Tauer , Cameron and Connor Short, sister Cora Mae Hansen of Hastings, MN and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Truman and Odell Danielson, and sister Orva Bridgeford.

The family extends special thanks to her niece Marlene Beedy for her unending support and weekly visits and to the staff of Villa St. Vincent, MCU for their exceptional and compassionate care.
