Timothy G. Johnson, 73, of East Grand Forks, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Timothy George Johnson  was born on February7, 1950 in Spokane, WA to the late Stanley and Helen (Kvidt) Johnson. Since they were a military family, Tim grew up in many places. When Tim was in Junior High, they moved to Grand Forks where he attended Grand Forks Central High School and graduated with the Class of 1968.  Tim proudly served in the United States Army as a Sergeant while stationed in Germany.  Over the years Tim enjoyed working for many of the area farmers.  He worked for the City of East Grand Forks in the Public Works Department until his retirement.  He later served on the East Grand Forks City Council representing the 4th Ward.    He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, a lifetime member of the East Grand Forks American Legion Post #157 and the VFW Post #3817.

Tim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan Johnson of East Grand Forks; sons Joey (Maija) Johnson of Thief River Falls, Danny Johnson, and Charley Johnson both of East Grand Forks; granddaughters Ayrianna and Reyah Johnson of Thief River Falls; brother, Steve (Pam) Johnson of Bemidji, MN and sister, Jennifer (Jerry) Saltness of The Villages, FL. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephenie Johnson; father, Stanley Johnson, mother Helen;  step-father, Earl Infeld; sister, Chris Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Sacred Heart Foundation for the Stephenie Johnson Scholarship Fund.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 1:00 PM, Thursday November 2, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721

VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral at the Church

INTERMENT: Resurrection Cemetery of East Grand Forks, MN with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #157, VFW Post #3817 and the MN National Guard
