William "Bill" Peterson , age 69, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023.

William Loyd Peterson was born on April 11, 1954 to Raymond & Vivian (Black) Peterson. He grew up and attended school in East Grand Forks 10th grade before moving to Minneapolis where he completed high school and continued his education as a machinist.

Bill worked at American Crystal Sugar for 43 years. He wore many hats in these 43 years: welder, machinist, and supervisor, just to name a few. He also gained many lifelong friends in his time at American Crystal.

Bill was stubborn and hard working. He could fix just about anything and wasn't afraid of a big project. He enjoyed a fire on a summer's night and a cold beer. Family was important to him, and he loved to spoil the grandkids with treats. He thought it was pretty great to hop-the-kids-up on sugar and send them home with their parents ( thanks, dad… ).

Bill loved hunting and fishing. He took his family on many vacations and did lots of camping. Bill was a member of the Eagles. He enjoyed meeting up with his fellow members and having a cold beer. He also loved to give the bartenders a hard time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Peterson and Vivian Johnson; and brother, James, along with his twin brother, Randy.

Bill is survived by his wonderful wife, Rebecca; daughter, Joanna (David) Pederson of Fargo, ND; son, Raymond Peterson of Grand Forks, ND; grandkids, William and Aria Peterson, and Summer, Hunter, Lillian, Isaiah and Jada Pederson; and brothers, Bob (Patty) Peterson of East Grand Forks, and Eric Peterson of Colorado.

MEMORIAL SERVICE is 11:00am on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Avenue NW, East Grand Forks, Minnesota, with a VISITATION 1 hour prior.
