Wilma Alene Stewart , 98, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the Valley Senior Living Center in Grand Forks.

Wilma Alene Smith was born on May 15, 1926 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of David and Liona (Furbush) Smith. She grew up in Waterloo, graduating from East High School in 1944. Wilma married Robert Stewart in Cedar Falls, Iowa on December 29, 1945. She raised her family in Cedar Falls, Iowa and Walnut Creek, California. Her and Robert traveled the US panning for gold. She moved back to Iowa following Robert's death in 2006.

Wilma is survived by her children, John (Sharon) Stewart of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Mary Parks of Indianola, Iowa, and Patricia Stewart of Las Cuois, New Mexico; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; grandson, Anthony Reading; brother, David Smith; 2 sisters, Helen Hebert and infant sister Dorothy.
